Authentic Maori designs of a Manaia, an ancient mythical being with a birds head and a human form. Said to be a messenger between the world of mortals and the spirits. The Manaia is a holder of great spiritual energy and is a guardian against evil.
This beautiful necklace also features a Koru (spiral shaped symbol) which is a symbol of peace, tranquility, personal growth or new beginnings.
This original hand made necklace features a high polish hand carved bone pendant 2 inches wide with a paua shell inlay for the eye and a hand made black waxed braid with a loop and bone toggle fitted. Each piece is crafted by hand so no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
Supplied complete with a traditional style cord & bag. A woven flax presentation case and information on the meaning of the design is also included.
