This is a stylized fish hook pendant. For the Maori the Hei-Matau is a representation of fertility, strength and prosperity. It is believed to bring you luck when you travel over water. It is also a symbol of power and authority.

Each piece is handcrafted so even when the design is similar, no two pieces will ever be carved the same way. The pendant comes complete with a traditional style cord and a woven bag.
